Psychotherapy
“I practice as a holistic and integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. This simply means I believe the mind-body-spirit connection is fundamental in understanding yourself as a whole person. I draw from several theories of practice, at the core of them all is the importance of the therapeutic relationship; connection, a safe space and supporting you to feel seen and heard and to find within you the wisdom that supports your personal growth, resolves your relationships, and heals your wounds. You will be met with empathy, compassion, and no-judgements. You are invited to be curious and open to the unfolding process.
My aim is to support you, to gain awareness and insight and promote self-compassion. In my work I create a safe and comfortable space for you to explore what is going on in your life. These maybe issues that are happening in the present and it often means exploring the past for healing.”
I have experience in working in many areas, some of which include:
- Low self-esteem
- Childhood Trauma
- Anxiety and stress
- Loss and Bereavement
- Depression
- Relationship issues
- Divorce and separation
- Abusive relationships
- Family issues
- Bullying
- Sexual Trauma
- Occupational burnout
Further Information
CONFIDENTIALITY
Confidentiality is an important part of the therapeutic relationship, without which there could be no trust. However, there are a number of instances, ethically and legally where the therapist has an obligation to breach that confidentiality. The issue of confidentiality will be discussed at the first session where any concerns you may have can be addressed at that time.
CLIENT SAFETY
In a situation where the therapist is concerned for the safety of a suicidal or distressed client, who is intent on harming themselves or others.
CHILD PROTECTION
Where the therapist has concerns or grounds to believe a child or children are at risk of being sexually, physically, emotionally abused or neglected.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
€70 per session
HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?
1 hour
HOW LONG DOES THERAPY LAST?
As every person’s needs are different there is no correct answer to this question. Some people find 6 sessions are what they need at that time, while others benefit from long term work. I usually suggest 6 sessions, then give the opportunity to review the work and you as client can decide whether you want to continue.
Cancellation policy
My cancellation policy requires 2 days’ notice of cancelled or re-scheduled appointments. With less than 2 days’ notice, it will be unlikely that I will be able to fill the appointment so you will be responsible for payment of the full session fee. Changes in an emergency situation incur no extra charges
